On the auspicious occasion of International Women’s Day as celebrated on 8th March, Chakrabarti HaBi Education Academy, College of Law is organizing a quiz contest in coordination with Danfe Law Associates, Lex Mantra and Bodh knowledge; proposes to conduct a quiz competition among the +2 colleges of Kathmandu providing Law stream education. International Women's Day is all about unity, celebration, reflection, advocacy and action - whatever that looks like globally at a local level. But one thing is for sure, International Women's Day has been occurring for well over a century and continues to grow from strength to strength.
A quiz is a game that can also be called a mind sport wherein the players, either as individuals or in teams attempt to answer questions posed to them correctly. Over the years people have been fascinated by these quizzes which have been broadcasted on television sets. And are still watched and enjoyed by children and adults alike even today!
But how many of us are familiar with the prospect of quizzes and the objective?
The objective of every quizzing competition is to encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and establish a relationship between theory and application of the learned concepts. It is easier said than done nonetheless.
The quiz competition will be majorly based on the national legal systems where it will aim on establishing the prospects of clinical legal education from the grassroots. Carefully considering the starting phase of the students in the legal sector, this quiz competition will largely be dependent on the substantive aspect of the law rather than the procedural aspect, as an effort for legal education and empowerment among the future associates of the legal fraternity. Given the fact that more than 40 colleges currently provide Law as an education stream in higher secondary levels, this program will seek to cultivate legal professionalism among the students and encourage their journey in legal education. Provided that most of the core members of this program team are involved as lecturers in higher secondary colleges, this program is also the outcome of the enthusiasm and demands from the students. The event will also create a common platform among aspiring law students from various colleges and other experts and enhance their capacity on the Nepalese legal system and general legal awareness.
